baby o vol 1 [9 weeks]

world, say hello to our little babe!
cutest little thing i ever did see!
baby o even gave us a few wiggles! [i think she/he was waving "hi!" to mommy and daddy :)

9.5 weeks with healthy heartbeat of 167bmp, and measuring about a whole inch! grow, baby, grow!

How far along? 9 weeks 6 days as of today [10-20-12]

How big is baby? size of a grape! or, about 1 inch.

Maternity clothes? HECK YES. maternity jeans are the best invention ever. i still [somewhat] fit into all my old clothing, some better than others- my old jeans are the most uncomfortable thing right now. and i'm loving dresses and leggings, but since it's getting chilly, i'll have to get creative...

Stretch marks? Hoping to avoid them as much as possible! i'm rubbing stretch mark cream basically all over at least once or twice a day. i read that you can't avoid them, but no harm in trying! funny story: last week i blew my nightly routine and completely forgot to rub on my stretch mark cream- no big deal, but in charlie's deep sleep he rolled over, and worriedly awoke me and keep repeating "babe! your pregnancy cream!" and i said "what??" and he kept saying "your pregnancy cream...YOUR PREGNANCY CREAM!" then i realized he was sleep talking. hahaha. he must be just as worried as i am about those pesky stretch marks! [note: he still denies all of that. haa]

Sleep? is still my best friend! except, my work schedule has me on such a routine, that it is HARD to sleep in now. wahhh! i guess i better get used to it. hmph! but i am counting my lucky stars that i can still get 8-9 hours of uninterrupted sleep. ahh, yes. :)

Best moment last week? seeing our baby for the first time!! i could stare at that ultrasound picture all day. and, i do.

Movement? well i know baby o DOES squirm around in there! saw it for ourselves on the ultrasound, but sadly i can't feel it yet. i can't wait for that moment, though!

Food cravings? eh, not really craving anything in particular, but when something sounds good- i have to have it!

Food aversions? not a big fan of desserts right now [i know- SHOCKING!] except chocolate...i still adore that. thank goodness. but i CAN'T STAND carmel right now. haven't since week 5. yuck. bleh. get that crap AWAY from me. and pumpkin kinda grosses me out. perfect timing, i know.

Gender? mama says GIRL! daddy says BOY! and majority of the votes of our family and friends all say girl, but there's been a few boy guesses. what do YOU think?? :)

Labor signs? way too early for that!

Belly button in/out? In

What I miss: being my thin[ish] self and not getting winded as easily. two months ago i could run 2 miles easy! now, stairs have my gasping for breath. which sucks. but so worth it. :) EVERYTHING outweighs any bad. i love being pregnant!

What I am looking forward to: those love-kicks!

Milestones: starting to show. :) proof is in the picture below..

p.s. check out the video of when i told charlie. after the initial shock of him being a DADDY, we hugged and kissed and celebrated the life we are creating.
we are so blessed.

[disregard my mouse-like squeals. that's what i sound like when i'm laughing/crying. if you wanted to know..]

let me explain..

oh. hey! it's samantha.
remember me? if not i don't blame you since i am clearly neglecting our little blog here.

oops.

life has been nothing short of crazy. and by crazy, i mean wonderful.

last month i landed an awesome full time job as an administrative assistant at a local appraisal management company. that's right! i'm a workin' woman!

and the other day charlie landed a full time job as an operations manager at a local property management company.
funny how plans change. after we moved up here we decided that i would be the bread winner and charlie would focus on taking advantage of the GI Bill and getting his degree in business management. but with this job opportunity that came his way that we COULD NOT pass up, his schooling will be part-time and his working will be full time. everything happens for a reason, right?

so with all that add in our now 5 month old puppy [who gained six pounds just last week alone!], time with friends, date nights, keeping up the house, trying to squeeze in all our errands on saturdays, church and catching up on sleep on sundays...you could say we're just a tad busy. :)

so, i'm sorry wittle blog. i'll try not to neglect you like this from here on out.

p.s. YAY september! autumn can't come fast enough!

blackberries.

after a sunday evening family dinner [picnic style] at the in-laws, we all decided we wanted some free fruit.
[add this to the list as to why oregon is awesome: free blackberries almost anywhere and anytime you'd like. one time, i even picked a few from a bush in the parking lot at work.]

[the thorns on these things are VICIOUS!

my best friend's wedding.

noo, not the chick flick.

i am fortune enough to have a handful of best friends.
this past weekend, one of them got married! [eeek!]

it was a hot august saturday. that also happened to have some thunder and lightening.
but liana was calm as can be! made life as a bridesmaid easy-peasy.

coolest part of the wedding? besides the father daughter dance that you can view here, was that after they both said "i do" thunder boomed. and even though it did rain, it didn't rain during the ceremony or the reception. just before and in between. talk about luck!

and i ended the night eating my third cupcake. alone. don't care! couldn't resist.
friends thought it was funny, so i had quite the paparazzi capturing my love for sweets.

congratulations mr. and mrs. wood!
i'm so thankful i could be a part of your gorgeous, special day.
love you both!

pen pals.

meet hunter.

a 10 year old competitive and sports loving boy who, last halloween, wanted to send all of his halloween candy to someone serving in the military. [i know- i was impressed, too!]
luckily enough, hunter's mom knew someone that is very involved with a program called "operation santa". that someone was connie, who often sent packages to charlie throughout both of his deployments [bless her heart! so sweet.]
sooo, connie then of course suggested that hunter send his candy to charlie!
another bonus? hunter only lives less than an hour from where charlie is from [and basically where we now live] so it was nice of him to want to send packages to a local marine.
the two of them wrote just a couple times within those months of c's last deployment. [thanks to the snaaaail mail!] but it meant a lot to both of them.

since we have finally settled down into a somewhat normal routine here in oregon, we decided to take the quick trip to visit hunter and his family and meet them in real life. [facebook connected us a few months back.]
and ohhhh boy! was hunter excited to meet his marine pen pal!
i could just see in his eyes how much he looks up to charlie. it was precious.
the both of them played video games, baseball, had a nerf war and had time to toss around the football while we visited yesterday. all while i chatted with hunter's mom and sister. :)
we just love their family!
they are the sweetest, and we just feel so lucky to have been connected with them through this whole thing.

ch-ch-ch-changes

looky up there!
see those new tabs?
i've been trying to figure those babies out for the past few months and dumb-dumb me didn't even notice it was available on the side of the "design/layout" page.
no html secret codes to figure out or anything! yay!!

in other news...

charlie signed up for college! [thank you GI bill for paying for his education! we're forever grateful!]
first day of school is towards the end of september! you better believe i'll make it special for him. :)

wrangler had his 12 week check up last wednesday and we are loving the veterinarian clinic we chose.
our breeder suggested we try a more holistic approach and i'm so glad we followed their advice!
you see, weimaraners are a little more very sensitive when it comes to vaccines, and since most vets like to over-vaccine, we didn't want to risk it.
luckily we live super close to holistic pet vet clinic.
here's our big boy [weighing in at a whopping 26 pounds!] at 12 weeks old. :)
